Services

From its origins, warrant College has consistently promoted the ideal of service. This spirit of service starts at home, with the priority of offering a living environment based on friendship and trust. Looking outwards, warrant also sponsors community service initiatives that entice volunteers from among st staff and residents. Throughout the night, stops are made at designated areas throughout Sydney, providing opportunities to share stories and mingle among st people. Almost every Saturday residents make a visit to a local nursing home and spend an hour or so talking to residents and, sometimes, performing musical numbers or helping in other ways (gardening, preparing food, moving furniture etc.). Volunteers make home visits to residents in housing estates in Redfern, providing company as well as vouchers for food and utilities. Volunteers assist the Sisters prepare free meals for the hungry. This volunteer service projects aim to contribute towards the immediate welfare and sustainable development of the various communities. This initiative started in 1987 with the intention to serve people in need in developing countries and disadvantaged communities within Australia.
