Jeff Butler is the owner and practitioner of fit4energy Acupuncture & Remedial Massage Therapy, based locally in Randwick. As a local person living in Randwick Jeff is aware of the number of local professional and trades people who lead busy and often stressful lives which can affect their health, work and sporting performance or motivation to exercise. Jeff’s unique set of qualifications allows him to combine his knowledge and practical skills in Western Biomedicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) and Remedial Massage Therapy. His previous nursing experience as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner at Hull Royal Infirmary (UK) provided him with advanced training and expert skills in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries with adults and children. Jeff continues to work in the public hospital system at Prince of Wales Hospital as a Registered Nurse working with orthopaedic rehabilitation; this enables him to maintain his knowledge and skills in healthcare. He completed a module of his course in China at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital, (Beijing) to gain experience of integrative medicine combining Western Bio-medicine with Traditional Chinese medicine. He graduated from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) with a Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which combined the theory and practice of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Jeff completed a Diploma in Remedial Massage at NSW School of Therapeutic Massage and has been working in private practice as a Remedial Massage Therapist specializing in sports related conditions and painful musculo-skeletal conditions. This positive experience with these therapies inspired Jeff’s interest to study and work as an Acupuncturist and Remedial Massage Therapist. Along with strengthening exercises his condition was relieved with Acupuncture and Remedial Massage Therapy. He personally experienced an episode of lower back pain, which prompted him to find additional alternative treatments to manage the pain.
